Well, I just wrote my Why Wellesley supplement essay and I realized it asks for two paragraphs. Now, my essay does fit the 400 word limit, but the format is a little bit different. I have a short anecdote of an intro, one main paragraph explaining "why", and one short conclusion. Is it still okay to submit in the fall? I know they asked for two paragrahs, but my essay flows so much nicer this way. I really feel its a good essay, I'm just worried they won't appreciate me not following the directions...

Thanks for any advice.

Are you talking about the Wellesley 100 essay? It doesn’t really matter- they just put a limit at 2 paragraphs and 400 words. I think you should be fine.

I have a few tips. I’m entering my senior year in the fall, and I’m working on my essay for Wellesley now too. Have you visited campus? If you have, WRITE ABOUT IT. I visited a lot of small womens colleges over spring break and the main thing I got out of it was to be specific. Make them feel like their school is the ■■■■ and that you will thrive there. When I visited Bryn Mawr, the student I shadowed said in her essay, she talked about her experience visiting campus, and how her tour guide really inspired her to apply. They love stuff like that. She got in, obviously.

I’m thinking about doing mine on the campus, but I feel like that’s too generic. I’m trying to stand out, you know?
