sorry for all the info
can i get into cal poly slo, sdsu, uc berkeley, ucla, ucsd, ucsb, uc davis?

im guessing a solid no from ucla and Berkeley, but give me your opinion.

No offense, but isn't it 7am on the west coast..? The schools you are applying to are all in CA...It's possible that you would be better off posting chances individually on the schools' threads...Most east coast people (where it is 10:00am) would have little idea of the chances at your schools (except maybe Berk, UCLA....) but even then, their perspective would be as OOS applicants....Sorry...

Well, I know why it's difficult for me to chance you.

You have listed your GPA (which must be a weighted GPA based upon the numbers--but you haven't told me if this is an overall weighted GPA or a UC GPA--which is weighted GPA that is capped at 8 semesters of honors credit).

Since this makes a massive difference in rating your chances correctly, I'd appreciate it if you would clarify this--and then write me personally, and I'll come back to this thread and give you chances based upon the clarification.

P.S. If you don't know how to compute the UC GPA, just post your sophomore and junior grades and I'll compute it for you.

thanks a ton calcruzer, i have no idea how to get my uc gpa, here are my grades for sophomore/junior year

sophomore

honors humanities: A/A-
Spanish 5-6: B/B (this killed me)
Honors Algebra 3-4: A-/A
Chemistry: A-/A-
APEC: A-/A-
Advanced football and weights: A
Auto CAD: A (I hope this looks good for engineering)

Junior:
AP Art History: A/A
APEL: B+/A-
Honors Pre-Calc: A-/A-
Physics: A-/A
APUSH: B/A
Auto Cad 2: A
Architectual Design: A

ACT with writing of 28 is SAT I equivalent of 1882 SAT I score

Good SAT IIs--630/730

Leadership is good, as are 1st in region award and 5th in state award

Chances:

UC Berkeley--Match to Slight Reach (closer to Slight Reach)
UCLA--Match to Slight Reach (closer to Match)
UCSD--Match
UC Davis/UCSB/Cal State SLO--Safe Match to Match
SDSU--Safe Match

The only fine line is at UCB and UCLA where I think you will get into UCLA, but not UCB (both by bare margins). Mechanical engineering is a very popular major at both schools.
