Aside from the private vs. public and cost things, why?

Is there something else that USC has that UCLA does not?

"You are a Bruin for 4 years, but a Trojan for life."

Threads about choosing a college after being admitted belong in the College Search & Selection forum, not in the College Admissions Forum, naturally. Good luck at finding advice for making a suitable decision.

Then don't moderators move them?

I wouldn't. Personally, it comes down to area and cost.

This wasn't a question about choosing a school after being admitted. I am a parent, and my D did not apply to UCLA. I simply noticed that a lot of people seem to compare the two schools, and I would like to know why they might choose USC over UCLA.

Large universities with lecture halls are overrated for undergrad.

WOuld that be UCLA you are talking about, TheOC89?

USC is a little smaller and more personal. Class sizes will be a bit smaller and supposedly professors are more accessible. Additionally the campus is less cramped and although it is in a bad part of town, it is grossly exaggerated.

Academics wise USC is well-known for Business, Communication, and Film, and the "Trojan Family" will probably give you better connections and job opportunities than any ordinary Bruin could find.

Buy hey, what do I know, right?

I'd pick USC if I was well-off and I wanted my kids to go to school with other well-off kids.

USC is waaay more original than baby Cal. ;)

bump.........
