why X letter: "will" or "would"?

i've finished my letter, but before i send it i have one nagging question: is it presumptuous to use "will" instead of "would" in my letter when describing how yale would be for me? like "I will enjoy the great courses, I will make many friends" etc.

i just feel that "will" is stronger, but would i risk sounding presumptuous by acting as if i'm already in?

nope. “will” is fine. I, too, used it

I prefer “would”. Not only is it less presumptous, but it also makes a stronger case for why they should admit you, I think. “I would take advantage of all Yale has to offer” kind of has “so you should accept me” in it implicitly.

Flip a coin.

Seriously.

A double-sided one.
