Though he did flip-flop, he makes a good point about the insecurity and dependency on rankings at Harvard.

You must be joking.

If anything, such an article represents little more than: (1) the Crimson's typical, longstanding penchant for slamming Harvard in order to demonstrate their independence, cynicism, tough-minded and "courageous" journalistic cajones etc., of the sophomoric variety; and (2) the lack of the boosterism etc so common in so many other college newspapers.

Examples are legion.

It wasn't about the actual rankings, it was Harvard's concern and insecurity about the rise of the Behemoth in Palo Alto that I was pointing out.

You can't cite various Crimson articles (including the Douthat piece that seems to be your new favorite) and yet bash the newspaper. Is it credible or not, Byerly? Those are real Harvard students writing, ones that attend your favorite university. AND they support MY point extremely well. Either the ones you cite AND the ones I cite are, or none at all.

Your choice.

Well, it appears that once again, Byerly and Zephyr are having a ball of a time flirting with each other. Hey Zephyr, have you opted to keep your name after marriage or did you change it to Mrs. Byerly?

I am no fan of Douthet, although he can be an amusing writer.

The Crimson is a fine paper, and has been the spawning ground for many able journalists, but as a student publication it is subject to the fallibility and poor judgment of students at all times and places. Prior to World War II, the editors became infatuated with Adolf Hitler for a time.

The Crimson does not speak for "Harvard" now, any more than it did for "Harvard" then.

I think Crimson is a pretty cool person. Especially considering his major was biophysics and biochem. at Yale and he got his M.D. at Harvard.

Byerly - Until you can match that level of accomplishment, don't insult Crimson.

Ofcourse, if indeed you are his match, I would like to hear your profile.

I think Byerly meant the Harvard Crimson, the student newspaper, not me - though I'm sure he thinks as lowly of me as he does the real Crimson.

Byerly attended Harvard College and a prestigious law school.

indeed, the Harvard of Ann Arbor!

Haha, I suspect you're going to get another stern warning from Byerly for revealing too much information.

He's really a jerk. I expect that one of these days he'll be banned for good unless he gets the message.

It appears that bulldog is the only one that can really get to Byerly.

People of that sort don't last long here.

Well, let's get back to the OP then, before I get banned for life!!! I think yale trumps harvard if you love thin burned crust pizza that takes about an hour in line to get and for some reason, has achieved mythical status.

http://www.pizzatherapy.com/pepe's.htm
http://www.pizzatherapy.com/sally's.htm

People don't get banned for criticism Byerly. They get banned from cc for taking part in explicit and very inappropriate behavior. Crimson would have to make awful and disturbing posts in order to actually get banned. I have seen people start racist threads and make references to sexual behavior that is very inappropriate - those are the people that get banned by the administrator himself: Roger_Dooley.

So unless Crimson is describing the behavior involved and talking very inappropriately while making disturbing and very offending comments about things like sex, illegal drugs, racism, sexism, hate-crimes, and things of the like; he is NOT anywhere near getting banned.

Of course, if you were just kidding when you said that bulldog would get banned; then this entire post was in vain.

The above quotes made by you convey a message to me that you were serious, rather than kidding, when talked about Crimson getting banned. That's why I made the above post.

While Bulldog has not been permanently banned, obviously, he has been suspended on at least one occasion due to inappropriate ad hominem attacks.

You are mistaken as always. I have never been suspended for any length of time. I was warned once with an argument with another poster, but never for any argument with you.

It should be the other way around.
In US NEWS graduate school rankings, it is hard to find a major in which Yale can beat Harvard. Yes, Yale is better than Harvard in Law/history/drama, In what else Yale is better?

Any area in science? NO.

Any professional school besides Law? NO.

Any humanity major besides history? NO.

In short, Harvard kicks Yale's butt.

This thread is not referring to graduate school, but to undergraduate school.
