Why You Don't Need To Be Ashamed Of Moving Back In With Your Parents

Only partly in jest, I just bought a home this year that has a separate “pool house/guest house” that’s heated, etc. Has it’s own laneway, etc. and is 2 story, but is adjacent to the back yard.
For me, it will be a win-win – If McSon should choose to move home for a spell to mow down his student loan, I’ll charge him market rent for a 1 bdrm plus a share of the utilities, but apply same to his student loans. If he doesn’t – I still have a great place for him, and others, to come visit ;)

So long as he’s paying market rent, he’ll get used to what it takes to manage his finances. And so long as he’s in separate quarters, I’d be in no hurry for him to leave ;)

But he’s not the type whatsoever to exploit me for laundry, meals or chores – it’s more the other way around and he’s a good sport about contributing. So perhaps that’s why it would not phase me in the least!
