Why you like Yale

Over on the Tufts board they started a "Why I like Tufts" thread compiling a list of all their favorite things about their school. As a prospective EAer who keeps having to talk myself into taking such a huge chance applying, I thought it might be nice for some Yalies to do the same over here just to keep things positive and keep reminding us that its all worth it in the end...

not very specific but...

I've never been happier anywhere else in my life than I've been here.

Because years after graduation day I still can feel the particuar sounds of the Yale morning and the excitement that I found when I looked out from my Vanderbilt suite. Because I can still recite the prologue from "The Canterbury Tales" in Old English, many years after English 125. Because of the way Yale shepherded my curiosity. Because you will feel the same way. Because it's magical, inspirational, priceless.

Because you can be taught as a freshman in a class of 15 by the chair of the Comp Lit department and in another by a former chief of staff of the state department.

Because everything about Yale reminds you that you're at Yale - except for the kids, who know they have nothing to prove.

Because most everyone is happy and wants you to be happy too.
