I’m a freshman living in Duren and honestly, I’ve got to say it is the absolute best dorm. It’s similar to San Jac in the fact that everything is new, clean, renovated, and spacious. My room is huge and I have a private bathroom (which is extremely handy). Duren is right across from Kinsolving Dining center and it is actually much closer to my classes (bio major) than any other dorm would be (except the honors quad). Also, it’s right across from the drag (Guadalupe street) and very close to west campus (so it’s very convenient if you want to go to frat parties or any off-campus parties lol).
In my opinion, aesthetic-wise and space-wise, both Duren and San Jac are the best, but Duren’s location (and the fact that you don’t have to walk up a huge hill everyday to go anywhere like you do if you live in San Jac) makes it the most ideal dorm.

Moore-Hill
Freshman
Biology major
Female
Why: smaller community as compared to Jester, prefer co-ed, nice RAs, prefer a quieter environment which suits me
MooreHill has 4 floors, 2nd and 4th are girls floor, and there’s no elevator, so you might want to request for the lower floor if you live here it’s close to Jester which has a lot of places to eat so it’s convenient

Comments on other dorms:
Jester (forgot East or West sorry but it’s not renovated): been there once to visit my friend, the room is pretty spacious, you have a sink in your room which at times prove to be really convenient esp if your room is far from the bathroom and you need to clean something, like i usually have to wash my cup and cereal bowl its not as noisy as many say, and I didn’t notice any smell and the bathroom is kinda cute cos you have a space outside to change which is separated from the shower by the curtain; there are laundry room on every floor

Honors Quad and Littlefield: I have been to Carothers’ bedroom but not others, it has wooden floor and looks pretty lovely; the Honors dorm and Littlefield’s common areas are awesome, very cosy, with armchairs and wooden furniture and such… If you read Harry Potter, that was how I felt the first time I visited and also, Littlefield is for freshman girls only

Duren: been to Duren once too and it really looks and smells like a hotel, maybe partly because it’s new, I guess San Jac is more or less the same

Jester Second floor buffet dining hall (or J2) is renovated this year and have a lot of options, however, sometimes I go over to Kins to eat because I feel that the food there is nicer; AND J2 does not provide breakfast (although there lunch and dinner has “breakfast-all-day” options, which I always find amusing), while Kins does.

I would most probably stay in Moore Hill again if I still stay on campus next year, cos my second option would be Littlefield but it’s for freshman girls only :)

littlefield all the way! it is as close as living at ut and living at hogwarts can get. :p

Kinsolving

Pros-
Has a dining hall
Very clean
Friendly
Does not smell

The South Side is much nicer in my opinion- I find the north side to be much dingier and kind of dank.

I was a transfer student, and subsequently was offered a supplemental housing contract. I LOVE IT. The rooms are much bigger and there is SO MUCH STORAGE. In fact, my roommate and I were offered to move into regular rooms (me in KIN NORTH, and my roomie in Jester) but we both adamantly declined and preferred to stay where we are. Ofcourse there are cons to living in a study room (no windows) but its wonderful. I have three dressers and full size wardrobe to myself. Not to mention enough room for me to keep a lounge chair (can’t do that in a regular room!)

Ok, sorry to rant. When i was looking for info on supplemental, there was no info, so I hope this is helpful.
