Dear parents, I understand we are all busy. However, is it really that hard and time consuming to spell out the words "son" or "daughter" instead of using the initials only? Do you really not have enough respect for your own children to do it? Just wondering...

"Just wondering dot dot dot"

Just wondering what? This is a sentence fragment. Agreed, you may also be very busy but certainly you have enough respect for and command of the English language to complete your written thoughts. Shorthand's everywhere. Welcome to the 21st century.

Just kidding... :)

FWIW abbreviations are the norm at CC.

You're reading wayyy to much into it. I highly doubt my daughter would interpret my calling her "d" as a lack of respect.

I think the time parents spend on here reflects the respect they have for their own children and other teens.

The fact that the parents are even on here, considering assuming a huge financial burden by sending their children to BS, is living proof that they do respect their children.

I had wondered the same thing actually, like it doesn't take much more time to write 's-o-n', than 's'... but I wasn't necessarily thinking negatively upon it, I was more so just thinking it was another internet abbrev. LOL... no I'll go all the way; abbreviation.

But ya know, whatever floats your boat, right?

I understood it for daughter but not for son..I would never think this was a sign of "disrespect" ..thats just absurd.

I thnk ths thrd is stpd.

u thnk ths thrd is stpd.

Oh gosh...

LOL, laxtaxi! :)

On most other message boards people abbreviate with an additional "d" (for dear or darling). I prefer the single initial used here.
