Why's Exeter not need-blind

It has $150m more endowment than the need blind Phillips Academy Andover.
It's not like Exeter has such huge expense differences amirite?

Exeter is no longer need-blind as of a year ago due to the recession. Though Exeter has a large endowment, that does not necessarily mean that all of the money in that endowment is directed towards aid for students. Many people donate to specific funds, which funnels money to specific places. Exeter is still dedicated to giving as much aid as possible to admitted students who need it, and it was with great regret that the Academy had to change its policy on need-blind admission. If it were not for the economy, Exeter would undoubtedly still be need-blind. They are VERY generous, trust me.

thanks. that was loudandclear.

And remember, even schools that claim to be need blind factor in fa when reviewing an application.
