Wichita State University Aerospace program - any info?

I'm looking at Wichita State University's AE program and am wondering if anyone knows anything about it. Is it good? Where does it rank? Do people get hired from it?

Also, how is Wichita State University overall? Food, dorms, social life etc? Thanks for any replies.

It’s ABET accredited and has been since 1949. http://main.abet.org/aps/AccreditedProgramsDetails.aspx?OrganizationID=427</a> Boeing has a major location in Wichita so I imagine there are good internship options.

That’s what I’m thinking. I hope the academics themselves are good. I hoping someone or a parent of someone who has gone to WSU will relate any experiences there. Many thanks!

Boeing has pulled out of Wichita. I used to work for Boeing in Seattle and would go down to Wichita a few times a year. There were lots of Wichita State Aero grads, and the program seemed to be well respected.

Thanks for the input. I think Cessna has a base there?

Yep, aerospace engineering at Wichita State has a good rep.

you could ask at the Wichita State forum, OP, if you aren’t satisfied with these responses.

Could you link me to that forum? I couldn’t find one on Wichita State, but perhaps I was looking in the wrong place. I am pretty new to CC. (What does OP stand for?) Thanks so much.

They are very well known for their aeronautical research.

Thank you, fractalmstr. I saw that they are like the 2nd most funded for that in the nation on their website. I just hope their undergraduate program is as equally important to them. From a a few reviews I’ve seen, it looks like the AE program always comes up as one of their best, so I’m pretty confident about that.
