So I was on Facebook, searching "XXX university/college class of 2013",
all of the schools I could think of (that have EA/ED), have a Facebook group...

Except Dartmouth, which makes me a little worried... Is social life really bad in Dartmouth?
Are people friendly in Dartmouth....?

Hm. No idea why that's the case. There are numerous threads on the social life here, so I'm not going to write up a bunch of reasons, but you should come visit. I think that would be your best bet of gauging the social scene at Dartmouth.

The ************** one got deleted, but there's a new one up.. it's under "Dartmouth Class of 2013" and there's like.. 90 people in it or something? I don't remember, but it's up there.

I think that we're using facebook for right now to get to know each other.. we can't blitz yet, lol. I noticed that when I got on campus though -- NO ONE uses their cell phones or signs onto facebook much.. but everyone checks blitzmail like, 20 times a day... lol

the stars are supposed to be college_prowle_r; the company made a lot of 2013 facebook groups, probably as a marketing scheme. there's a blog about it floating around on the internet

Actually blitz used to be even more dominant. When I arrived as a freshman there were often long lines for blitz terminals, and many upperclassmen were complaining about the sudden rise of cellphones. Nowadays almost everyone I know has a cellphone (even if they don't use it much). Also, one thing about newer cellphones is that you can check blitz on them...

I think the other group got deleted because it was started by people who weren't Dartmouth '13s! One of the admins was in the UMiami class of 2008. I checked out a few other college groups and they were all started by the same group of people. Maybe that's why it got deleted.

johnleemk: i visited campus on the fly-in program and we did this scavenger hunt thing.. one of the tasks was to make a really long line behind a blitz terminal. i thought it was funny that you mentioned that XD

Dartmoose: yeah, there were like ten people that created 1000+ class of 2013 groups, but after people found out that they all work for a company and that it might be a marketing scheme, the admins began to leave the group. for dartmouth's group, the admin left the facebook page, but i think it was ultimately deleted because it used a dartmouth logo, but i'm not sure. anyway, the new one is 10x cooler :)
