Wierd question! What location should I choose!?

Okay so I know I want to leave Chicago/ the Midwest but I don't know where I want to go for college, and I feel like choosing the location I want to go to college in will help me narrow my college choices. So I really like california, it's warm yet young and cool but I'm scared about the stereotypes there and that everyone might be stuck up or snobby. I also really like florida, because it's warm and less expensive than california (cost of living) and the people seem down to earth, but I want to move to an urban city after I graduate and I feel like miami has a lot of negative stereotypes. Also, I really like New York because its so urban and exciting, but it's not that warm and I'm scared that I will be broke there considering how wealthy many people there are.

I don't want to come across as judgmental and I know not all stereotypes are deffinatley not true and don't apply to everyone, but what do you guys think!? California, florida or New York!?

I can’t speak for other places but as far as NY, it really depends what neighborhood in terms of cost of living.

Ok thanks! Are there any good but not super expensive colleges there!?

Sure. The SUNYs/CUNYs are good for their fields. Particularly, Stonybrook is in Long Island and is good with science and is an honors college. I don’t know much about more art/humanity type places as it is not my particular interest.

Jersey also has a few colleges that are supposed to be near enough to NYC provide you with access to the city, but since they’re in Jersey you can get stuff at non-city prices. I think Kean is one of the state colleges that offers that.

Ok cool thanks! Ill deffinatley keep those in mind. I want to go into business so that’ll be helpful. I like the New York vibe but at the same time it’s so cold there just like Chicago so I can’t decide between Cali and florida or ny! Ahh

For Business, SUNY Binghamton is the best SUNY.

If you hate cold that much, you will be miserable at NY. Look at Texas schools but the publics there are hard to get into for OOS due to that auto admit rule. Look at Florida State University, North Carolina State University and University of Miami.

Thanks! I love university of Miami, but it’s sooooo expensive and I don’t think I can get a scholarship unless I get like a 31 on the ACT :frowning: North Carolina I really like too except I kind of like the idea of a big urban area nearby

fort lauderdale is an amazing city along with pompano / hollywood/lighthouse point etc…
go to nova souheastern in davie and you can have it all in a better setting then Miami.

Ok thanks. It s also really important to me that the school I go to has good internship and job placement stats, would this college have this? And also would one state be better for jobs than another?

Bump … Anyone?
