Can someone tell me about wifi capability- the rep mentioned that the students needed a booster card to connect

i used the dorm wifi during BB on my ipad mini and it was fast.

I’ve never heard of any “booster card”. I’ve used the wifi at Bama many times. There is wifi everywhere.

Were they talking about a cord to use in the dorms for better connections during busy times? The dorms have wifi but sometimes during high volume times a better connection is had with a cable connection.

^ Plan to bring an extra long ethernet cord. I think he’ll be fine.

Yes, an ethernet cable will be your best friend. Especially during the school year. In a high-density residence hall like Presidential where you have 900-plus students, even the best WiFi network can become saturated. I would not plan to depend on anything wireless, such as Bluetooth, etc. I thought I was clever in trying to eliminate clutter in my son’s room by using a wireless keyboard and mouse. I never could get it to work.

maybe that’s what she meant… she misled us on something else so NO surprise- Thanks
