Frankly, I'm a bit surprised that they made it this week (after 2 sloppy wins); was thinking it would take a win against Purdue next week.

Thought Persa did a great job throwing the ball. Some costly mistakes almost cost NU the game (3 missed extra points already this year?!). But can’t argue with the outcome. 5-0 on the season!

I have hope that BCS will reformat their football playoff schedules, to match the basketball final four. That way we can really see who number one should be…sigh.
Go Wildcats!

I doubt it. Going to a playoff system won’t happen until it can bring in as much money as the bowl system does

While I am happy for Northwestern, I think the polls are largely BS. Stanford vs Florida provides a good example:

Before Saturday,

During the game,

BUT AFTER the game,
Florida is 2 and 6 spots ahead in AP and Coaches’ polls, respectively???

Coaches don’t even know what else go on other than their own games. The sad thing is these BS matter in BCS.

APOL,
I heard that BigTen is the strongest opponent against BCS change. I can see how Ohio State love BCS since they are always so overrated in the preseason; they don’t care if they don’t deserve to go to NC game and get blown out.

How does a no passing game win??? And will someone please talk to the TV announcers, they were sooooo pro-Purdue, it was hard to watch the game!
sigh…

whyyyyyy…

APOL,

It was hard to watch because it’s one of those stupid games where stats like #1st down, yardage, time of possessions…etc overwhelmingly favor your team yet it still lost! The special team made too many mistakes and the last two penalties just killed us. Nothing is worse than watching your team committing stupid errors and losing narrowly. At least in a blow-out, there’s no coulda/shoulda… :(
