I got my AP scores in the mail today, just like a lot of other people in the Midwest. I wasn't surprised but rather disappointed to see a big, fat 4 next to English Lang and Comp.

I have gotten 5's on all my other ones (Calc AB, Chem, Bio, Stats, US History) but English Lang and Comp is the only one I have gotten a 4 on. I have straight A's and I got a 2290 on my last SAT. I also rank in the top 3 or 4 in my class.

Do you guys think that my one 4 on my English Lang and Comp would jeopardize my admission into an Ivy League school? I've done a little bit of research and I saw some people say that it doesn't matter and others say that it matters in Ivy League admissions.

Thank you so much! (I hope everyone's satisfied with the AP scores... :D)

start sarcasm
Yes. The people above are obviously trying to sabotage your chances because EVERYONE that goes to any Ivy League gets a 5 in everything. There is no one who didn’t get a 5.0 and a 2400. In fact, everyone at everysingle Ivy is perfect. This 4 is an obvious blemish.
What you should do is write a long letter explaining why you got a 4 and include that as your admissions essay. Go complain to the Schools you are applying to and to the college board.
end sarcasm.
I only have three words for you: No.No.No.

No :).
Lighten up! This process is going to be stressful enough without worrying if every tiny little thing is going to stop you from getting into your dream college. If you stop that now, it’ll be so much easier for you.

getting a 4 wont jeopardize your chances for an IVY league school but being dumb enough to think that a 4 could jeopardize your chances at an IVY league jeopardizes your chances!

A 4 is still a good score; no need to be worried. (Though I have no data to back it up, I would say that getting even a 1 on a single test wouldn’t be enough to keep someone out of an Ivy or other extremely selective school, as long as the rest of the app was excellent.)
