Will a accounting minor hurt my chances to HBS 2+2?

I am an Industrial and System engineering freshman. I was originally intended to claim an accounting minor the next year. At the same time, I am really interested in HBS 2+2 and want to get in. Will this accounting minor hurt my chances to get in? I heard they are looking for students with no perticular business background.

PS: my major Industrial and System engineering is the most business oriented engineering degree already. Will these be a disadvantage?

So you’re asking us what we think, but what do you think? That is the real question.

I am asking what do you guys think, about whether an accounting minor would be a disadvantage for 2+2. Sorry if I confused you anyways.

They’re going to see your coursework regardless. Study what you want to study. It’s an impossible program to get into anyway.

what do you mean by ‘‘impossible’’ ?

^ He means it’s competitive and extremely hard to get into.

Possibly. But really, you should be choosing majors/minors based on what YOU want, not based on the chances that it will hurt you in applying for a program that accepts 14% of its applicants. So if you like accounting, minor in it! If you don’t, don’t. But definitely don’t make your decisions based on 2+2 - not only are there a myriad of other fine business programs out there, 2+2 is far from the only way to get to HBS itself.
