I got a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam, but a B+ in the class, which means that I won’t have a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I have As in all other classes; my weighted GPA puts me in the top 2%.
One B+ will not keep you out.
@CGHTeach ok, thanks. It’s just that I heard somewhere that 75% of admitted students have 4.0 unweighted GPAs?
http://features.thecrimson.com/2014/freshman-survey/admissions/
In a recent survey, 54% of admitted freshman had a 4.0, which means that 46% of admitted students did not. If admitted, you will be in the “did not” category. Bottom line: one B+ will not keep you out.
Whether its your "It’s just that I heard somewhere that 75% of admitted students have 4.0 unweighted GPAs? "
or Gibby’s “54%”, those pale in comparison to this:
96% of applicants get rejected. What does that tell you?
@T26E4 that admission to Harvard isn’t a sure thing for anyone, regardless of his stats. But I just wanted to know if a B+ would decrease my already minimal chance of getting in. Apparently not, though.
