So last year I had a 3.37 gpa first semester and a 3.81 next semester. This year I had a 4.21 this semester (so far) and hopefully higher next semester. If I keep this trend going (btw A = 4.0, A+ = 4.5, I am taking hard courses [honors and such] at the best and most prestigious and oldest high school in my state, will be taking 4 AP next year and 5 the year after) will I be alright at most colleges (I am considering Univ of Chic or Amherest College, specifically for econ)

yes it will!
but not for berkeley

I don’t think it will jepordize your chances.
:)

alot of colleges dont put too much weight on freshman year.

upward trend

You should be fine assuming you have really good ECs. I don’t know why you would want to go to the University of Chicago considering it is commonly known as the place where fun goes to die.

No. Consider applying to schools like Stanford that don’t even look at your freshman GPA; a 4.21 UW is very impressive (though it seems a little dumb to me that an A+ is 4.5, because I’m guessing for the rest of the scale +s and -s are only worth .3.)

No it will not.

I know a kid who blew off freshman year completely and he still got into Stanford. You’re fine.

Yes you will die.
