Will a C destroy my chances?

I’m a high school junior and I’ve had a 4.0 for the majority of my time at school but this year I opted to take Calculus AB/BC (my school forces you to take them in one year) and I’m on track to end with a C, like there’s no way I can raise my grade with less than 10 days left of the semester and no more test grades other than the final. I know the concepts and materials, I just bomb the tests.
If I get a 5 on the AP test for BC do you think the colleges I’ll apply to (my no. 1 is Emory) will still see me as a subpar student because of my AB grade? It’s too late to change my grade but for the rest of my classes, I’m going to get As in them. I’m not planning on majoring in math, probably biology then pre-law.
Thank you to everyone who replies! I’m really stressed out about this.

Deep breath, you are fine. No individual class or grade will define your future. You are appropriately focusing on the things within your control. Don’t let those beyond your control sap your energy. Hang in there.

Well it depends on your overall transcript and the rest of your application? What are your stats and do you have any hooks?

For stats/hooks:

  • 1560 sat: 800 math, 760 r/w
  • 5 on ap psych, compsci principles
  • im a second gen immigrant, parents from china (not sure if that’d be a real hook though)
  • my dad worked for UPenn and uncc
  • frc for 2 years, finance lead, drive coach, electrical engineer on the team
  • went to worlds with my frc team in 2018
  • founder/president of psychology club at my school
  • inducted into nhs, music honor society, math honor society, english honors society
  • i mentor a fll jr team
  • volunteer for teen court, tutor kids at an elementary school near me
  • played in my county’s orchestra for 5 years now (you have to audition to get in and my county has almost 150,000 students in it)
  • I’m doing TSA this year so hopefully I’ll place

All A’s in HS (until now) and my courses were:
AP: world, psychology, compsci principles
Honors: Pre calc, math3, english 1, english 2, civics/economics, chamber orch (2 years), latin 3, chem, bio,
Standard: orchestra, sociology, microsoft word/ppt, latin 2

i’m not sure of my class rank/gpa as my school doesn’t publish those

thank you so much! i’m just gonna try to concentrate on ending bc calc with a b

Like I said your fine, do the best you can. So far your best seems very strong.

Do your best. Colleges know this is a difficult class, and not a “fluff” AP by any means.
