My (freshmen fall semester) current gpa is 3.77 and if i get a C in my math course in current semester, my spring semester, my gpa would be 3.5.

Is it bad for an english major?

Will I be able to repeat the course to get an A. is that recommended for berkeley applicants?

Yes a C will hurt although it won’t be a deal breaker.

Should i repeat the course and get an A?

In most, if not all, community colleges you can only repeat the course if you receive a final grade of “D” or “F.”
If you are usually an A/B student, you could calculate how many units you need of A coursework to bring your GPA back up to its original point with summer and fall 2013 semesters.

I got in with a single C. Don’t sweat it. ONE will not affect you. Three may.

I got a C my first semester in a biology course (didnt know you could get a D or F and retake at the time), and got into ucb and ucla as a polisci major with a 3.71.
