I'm an incoming freshmen who's most likely going to SFSU this fall.
I took Alg2/Trig and AP Stats in HS and I took a placement test at my local community college to take Trig over the summer.

The problem is I got past the Alg2 portion of the test somewhat due to luck, not using the formal method of solving but plugging in numbers. My Alg is pretty rusty. And I just found out today that the teacher I have is horrid(rude, teaches straight from the book, grades tests super hard). She e-mailed the incoming students a Alg2 pretest and says if we can't solve it, we'll either have to review it or struggle through the class because we'll be using Alg2 as well. The course is fast-paced,3 sections a day, 4 classes a week for 6 weeks. And honestly don't think I'll pass.

If I go to SFSU, can they place me in an appropriate class based on my HS transcript?
And if I get a D or lower in my Trig class, how much will it affect my transfer to a UC, CA private?

By the way is the Alg2 course as SF combined with Trig and served as prereq for Precal?
