Will a good ACT score help

I'm taking the ACTs in February and was wondering if I did well on them would it help with colleges. Also, this may sound dumb but, what is a good score? I know the best is 36 but what is the range where i should set my sights on 27-36?
btw Im a senior in high school so would I still be able to take them and send the scores in before a decision for my colleges are made
sorry for the long post

DHazen1172 You should take it and attempt to get a high score. I would recommend you try your best as it may be a key determining factor in your admission depending on the college. Good Luck,

Chance me please!!!

Great scores are 30 and above. I believe 22 is the national average. You can go to their website and they have charts showing you the percentage of kids that score each score, composite etc. Depends on what you are trying to do …admission … admission where? Merit scholarships? On what kind of score you need.

No merit scholarships. I’m applying to UDub, Northeastern, Miami (Ohio), Virginia Tech and PSU main campus. Will I still be able to take them and send them in before a decision is made??
