Will a high score in Math I/Math II "make up" for low math score on SAT?

So my sub scores for the SAT are all in-range for my top choice, Brown, EXCEPT for my Math score. If I take the SAT II in Math in January and get a high score, would that make up for the lower score I got on the SAT reasoning test? I mean I know adcoms won't overlook the low math score completely, but will it at least dispel any doubts they have about my math ability? Thanks.

I think it should, but you should consider taking the SAT again on another date other than the day you are taking the Math II. The Math II allows you to get around a 43/50 raw score and still get an 800, so study hard and cut down on mistakes, and it shouldn’t be so difficult to get an 800 on the Math II. Don’t try to take the Math I if you can. There is too much overlap with the Math I and the SAT Math, and the curve on the SAT Math I is horrible. You probably need a 50/50 raw score to get an 800 on the Math I. Since your March SAT probably won’t matter much to admissions if you are a senior, take the Math II if you can, in January. The SAT Subject tests might be more important since the SAT is just one factor, but SAT Subject tests show more initiative. However, don’t take my advice fully, ask for other’s as well. Getting an 800 on the Math II might show that while your test taking skills such as use of Process of elimination and other strategies may not be the best, you still have mathematical mastery, as the Math II is more about knowledge than it is test taking skills. However, still practice strategies.
