Will a lack of AP and honors classes at my high school ruin my chances of high level colleges?

I attend a small public high school with around 200 students. My school offers AP Calc and AP English. My school offers no honors classes. My top two college choices are currently Bowdoin and Colgate. My GPA should be around a 3.80-3.90 when I graduate in two years. I am hoping to score a 33 or above on my ACT. I am taking the top level courses at my school and I plan to graduate with a diploma with distinction and a silver cord. In addition I will be working on my cross country running and I hope to be able to receive an athletic scholarship. I’m involved in Academic clubs, sports, and fine arts. I’m currently in 10+ ec’s (including a state qualifying robotics team and one of the top speech teams in the state) and I plan to join any new clubs that arise. I’m also starting my own small charitable business. I will also have 240+ hours of community service by graduation. Will I still have a chance without all the honors and AP classes?

Your GC/admin person will supply a profile of the school that will include how many honors/APs are offered (and a lot of other info, such as how many people take APs, the SAT/ACT ranges for the school, etc. NO college will penalize you for not having done what you can’t do.

A word of caution on ECs: don’t add any more! 10+ is already too many- you want more depth > breadth!
