Will a minor in CS help me at all?

Well in my Pre engineering program I see that we use computers alot will a minor in CS help me at all in an Aerospace career?

I mean when I got the job already and not just to look good on the resume.

It couldn’t hurt, but in truth there are probably more worthwhile uses of your time… learning more about aerospace, research, special projects, graduate-level courses, etc.

I always advise others to go for a minor or double-major only if it’s something they would be happy to have done with nobody else knowing about it. If you’re worried about being a better aerospace engineer or making more money or getting better jobs… there are better ways of going about that than minoring in CS.

Of course, if CS is something you think you might like, go for it. It’s a lot of fun and pretty intellectually stimulating.

just take courses on object-oriented programming and data structures. (most likely combined into a single mid-level programming course)

you really won’t need to take any other CS courses for your aerospace career.

It will definitely help you.
