Will a preppy international student fit in at Vassar??

So I love the possibilities Vassar would offer me academically...the campus is beautiful...but I am not all too sure about the social life. I have read in many forums that Vassar students are often very quirky and kind of "out there". A former student has described Vassar as the perfect place for gays/lesbians/drama majors/artsy hipsters/bookworms and goths. She said that anyone who didn't like/ didn't fit in at high school, would love it at Vassar. She also said that social life at Vassar can be quite cliquey (I really don't mean to offend anyone! this is just what I have been told). Would current Vassar students agree?

I am an open-minded person, but I am definitely not the artsy or slighlty alternative type. I would consider myself slightly more conservatively liberal/preppy (although I completely accept homosexuality etc.) Will I fit in at Vassar?

Plus - any thoughts/comments about international students at Vassar would be very helpful :)

Thanx

lauraluisa,

As far as I’ve known, Vassar is “the perfect place for gays/lesbians/drama majors/artsy hipsters/bookworms and goths” and “anyone who didn’t like/ didn’t fit in at high school, would love it” here because it’s a very open community which accepts all kinds of people. So I’m pretty sure once you get here, you will find people who are like you, and you will never feel left-out. That’s what an international student at V told me.

Btw, where are you from? :-P

Thanx for your reply seridonami :)

I’m from Switzerland…what about you?
