I have a dilemma. Three schools I’m interested in transferring to are reed, bowdoin, and cornell. They all say that they don’t require the SAT/ACT if it hasn’t already been taken. I have taken it. Would they know I’ve taken it if I say I haven’t and don’t submit it? My SAT scores are atrocious, but I have a solid GPA.
Good idea, or bad idea?
You need to look very carefully at each school’s published requirements. Here is what Cornell states:
“Cornell University requires freshman applicants to submit either all SAT or all ACT scores. Please note that Cornell does not participate in the College Board’s Score Choice. Applicants who decide to submit both the SAT and ACT to meet testing requirements must submit all scores for both tests. In addition, each undergraduate college/school at Cornell has specific requirements for SAT Subject Tests (see requirements below).”
According to this, you MUST take either the SAT or the ACT. Since you don’t like your SAT scores, try taking the ACT at the next possible opportunity. Then once you choose ACT or SAT, then you must send all test results from that test but not both. As to whether SAT subject tests are also required, it depends on the school within Cornell that you apply to. Info can be found here:

@Sam-I-Am This is the reqs regarding freshmen admits. Transfers aren’t required to submit if not already taken.
@ACTscienceprep Those are my thoughts exactly. I will definitely check up with my current advisors and get some intel. Thanks!
They may have you in their system from when you were in high school.
