I am currently a highschool junior in AP Physics B. I chose physics because I prefer it over chemistry (which was my other choice) and, I thought, I understood it. Because my AP physics class is two periods, my teacher decided to separate our grades into different periods. So first period's grades are just tests and quizzes, while second period is everything else (classwork, homework, drills, labs, etc.).

Because of this messed up grading system, I have a 71 (C-) in 1st period, but a 99 (A+) in second period. The worst part is, she keeps telling us to 'be proud of a 60+' because apparently that correlates to a 5 on the exam (?).

In addition to AP Physics I'm also taking two other APs, and my lowest grade this quarter (except for my 71) was a 92.

Will me getting a C- in one period of a class ruin my chances of getting into more elite colleges?

---Obviously, I am working on bringing my grade up, but my teacher does not prepare us for our assessments at all (she purposefully puts questions we don't know to "help us prepare for the AP exam where we won't know the answer to every question")

THANK YOU FOR ANY FEEDBACK YOU CAN GIVE ME!!
