will a zero mess me up?

ok my Gpa us low as it is, in 8th grade I moved to a new middle school in late august, I took Spanish for the fist time, thy put me in honors 1, I had mo clue since kids there were taking it since 6th grade. The teacher knew of this and excluded me from her class, she was nice and let me work on special worksheets she made for me, now I was not notified about this til now (senior year if hs) that I got a 0 for that class and its on my high school transcript!! What's do I do??

Why is something that happened in 8th grade on your highschool transcript…? If it didn’t actually happen in highschool (grades 9-12) I don’t think colleges are going to care.

I think all foreign language classes are counted as high school credit. At least that’s how they do it at my school.

moonnite, did you talk to your counseler?

I havnt met him yet, I will plan on calling him tommorow

Have you not seen it on your report cards before now? If you cannot sort it out yourself then get your parents involved. I mostly let my kids sort out any problems at school but in this situation I would definitely have parents go and see the counselor.

A lot of schools have advanced programs for example im a year ahead in science, foreign language, and math (took frosh classes in 8th grade). This means by the time i graduate I’ll have five years of each instead of four and such its on my hs transcrpt.

i dont think there is anything to be worried about in this case since it is in your 8th grde…colleges only look for grades 9-12…i hv no idea wt ur 8th grade info is there in ur transcript…theb 4 ur satisfaction i guess u will hv to involve ur parents into it and jst tlk 2 d counseller…

I canz speakerz liek a tard 2!

I’ve had 7th grade (Algebra) and 8th grade (Geometry) stuff on my transcript

High school courses are on the transcript.

Anyway, as long as colleges are informed about this (via a note), then this is a non-issue.

High school courses are on your transcripts and the credit can be used towards fulfilling academic requirements. In our schools case the grade DOES show up on the transcript but is NOT used toward your cummulative GPA. I believe it is the same in most schools.

Usually, classes taken in middle school are not considered in college admissions. They usually only look at 9-12 (or in some cases 10-12) grades.
