hi, i was wondering if more sections of korean ltko1a would be opened up when it's time for freshman registration 'cause i was looking at ltko sections moo/mo1 and noo/no1 and they were both full and ppl were on waitlist already. i'm hoping to take one of those sections, since i'm not a native speaker..but i'm worried that no seats will be available. >.<
any help would be appreciated! thank u :]

when you’re on the ‘schedule of classes’ page, you can change the search term from “fall 2009” to previous quarters so you can get an idea of how full certain classes will be – really helpful when you want to take more than 18 units in a quarter but hit the cap, so you can figure out which class to hold off on registering for until the quarter starts btw.

so fall 2009 only shows 22 spots each right now for those sections, but fall 2008 shows they upped the seat limits for m00/n00 to 25 and in fall 2007 they upped them to 26 – plus a ton of seats opened up both quarters from people who dropped.

you should be fine! :)

and even if you’re forced into waitlisting for the class (registering for freshman quarter blows unless you’re blessed by god himself with an early time), enough people should drop for you to be okay. so waitlist, go to class the first week, and just wait it out.

ahh i see. so when i go on waitlist, i am still allowed to go to the lectures and everything w/o the teachers minding?

and thanks for your advice!!

yeah, they won’t mind at all! in fact, i think if you’re waitlisted for a language class and don’t show up on the first day you get dropped.
