Will an 800 in Math Level 2 make up for a 730 Math SAT?

Hi ALL!!

I just got my score today, which was a cool 800 in Math Level 2. Will that make up for a hot 730 on the regular SAT math test? (Admission for MIT)

Thanks ALL!

ahah i'm wonderin too; since i just got back a 730 math. didn't take math2 yet

for a school like MIT i think it will b/c of their math/sci focus. for other schools however, or anybody who is majoring in something that ISNT math/sci, i think that a 730 math on the SAT is really acceptable.

730 and 800 are not that much different. In fact, most school won't care for 800 if you have above 700 on each section. They considered that's qualified and look into other things in your application.

^^I'd say it's more like colleges don't care as long as you have 750+ in the math and verbal sections. A lot of places completely discount the writing section, though.

A 730 in the Math SATI is almost equivalent to the 800 SATII Math because the SATII has a very generous curve. You can get like 6 wrong on the test and still get an 800 on the SATII. For the SATI, if you get 1 wrong you've got like a 780.

Of course, there's no set cut-off and 730 is still a pretty good score.

hey i have a similar yet not so similar question...I got a 730 on SATI math but a 720 on Math II. should I retake the math ii? i'm somewhat confident that i can do a LOT better than that, but right now i'm taking ap calc and the things im learning now have nothing to do with the material that is tested on math ii.
