Will an "F" from a CC transfer to a U?

currently, i am at a community college the first english course i took i was not serious about college at all and received a f. I recently retook the same course and got a A. Now, the engineering program i am interested in requires 3.0 in all math a science, which i have. So that is ok.

But also it require at least a 2.5 in all english. So if you average the f and the A, that is a 2.0, so i have one more english course left and if i do not get a A, my average will not be 2.5.

Does this make sense? I have heard that GPAs do not transfer but, i am confused as to what i am looking at in my situation. Because i am transferring all my basics to the university will they just accept the credit and not the grade or will they factor in my f, which would disqualify me.

i am a very serious college student now.

PS: other than that f, i have 9 a's and 1 B.

That A should have replaced that F. I retook two F’s and D and got An A,B and a A respectively. The F will still be on your transcript, but your GPA should have gone up significantly.
