The postcard for interviews just came out. I'm certain that I'm gonna sign up for one. But just out of curiousity, how do Adcoms take interviews into account? Do interviews carry much weight or influence on the admissions process?

I think interviews are mainly for recruited athletes and the Ivy League. Northwestern doesn't even hold interviews on campus, which I think is an accurate example of how much they value them. I didn't have one. Just get strong rec's from people who know you well.

Really? Wow, i thought for top colleges interviews were very important. I live in new jersey...do you think I should register for one anyway?
I was going to before I read this.
Will it help...and can it hurt?

Having an interview is a way of showing that a school is a serious option - not just a safety.

It also gives you a chance to learn about the school and to fall in love with your safety - a very good thing.

meaning to say NU doesn't really value interviews? darn

I think that NU views interviews more as a way of you to find out more about the school than for them to find out more about you. Therefore, if you still have lots of questions about NU...go ahead and set up an interview. But don't really look at it like a notch in your application.
