Will an MIP charge affect my scholarship?

So long story short I was stupid last night and got an MIP charge. Obviously I've learned my lesson, but I'm concerned that this charge could affect my university scholarship. I know Ann Arbor offers a rehabilitation program to get the charge expunged from my record but could the university still find out?

Thanks

Depends on the scholarship. If its an academic scholarship, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Does anyone really learn a lesson after getting an MIP, other than to not get caught?

How would we know? Check with your school. The people who gave you your scholarship.

Must not be an academic scholarship if you were stupid last night.

I have a friend that really, truly did. If nothing else I think it certainly makes you think again about your priorities.

Basically the lesson is to never go to Greenwood.

I didn’t know they gave out MIPs at Greenwood. I thought they just busted block parties.

^Hence the greenwood block party…lol, **** was wild
confused freshman walkin around

^Yeah saw cops there when I was there, lol

If you have to reapply for your scholarship all the time, and if they ask you, “Have you been found guilty of any criminal charges”-- (and if you are truthful) then yeah, they will find out. Otherwise they are not going to spend money running everyone’s criminal history before renewing scholarships so I wouldn’t worry about it. PS the University has free legal counsel for students (search for it on U website), why don’t you check to see if they can give you any advice about the charges, unless you have your own lawyer.
