Will Any Classes be Left?

There are 3 more orientations before my son attends his orientation session. When we go on Gibson online and look at the class schedule, a number of the classes have only a few seats remaining. Is it likely that students in the later orientations will get closed out, or do they open more seats for the later orientations? Thank you.

They open seats every orientation session. They plan it that way, so don’t be fooled by what you see on Gibson.

even if every seat is full in a class, if you REALLY need it they will find a way to get you in by calling the department. chemistry was completely full when i was registering, but my advisor got me in it because i needed to take it to be on track with the pre-med curriculum.

Thanks for the responses. Glad to hear they open seats for every orientation session. There are certain professors and time slots that may be desirable, so that is good to hear.

we were in the 1st orientation and that is the way it appears to be done to me.
i think after orientation, the student has until midnight the following night to make changes.
Parents are not allowed to visit the academic adviser with the student while the student is registering for classes. Therefore, they give the student time to go over the schedule and make changes for one day following orientation.
the next possible time to make changes will be July 24th, i think ??? (i am not sure about July 24th. that is what my son thought he heard)

I’m pretty sure you can change your schedule once all the orientations are done all the way up until the drop/add deadlines in the fall.

I just came back from an Orientation date. They said it reopens for everyone July 2nd.
