I’ve joined other clubs but Savy was the only one i had leadership role in.
I think those are the main highlights, i may not have gotten all of them. But that should give you a general idea.

I know my math skills seriously suck and it really stinks because i’m pretty good with computers (fixing, putting together, web building, flash cs3, MS expression web, fireworks cs3, etc.) All my life i’ve wanted to be some kind of a computer engineer, whether it was making games, designing hardware, coding software, anything) but now that i’m older i still am very passionate about it but i’m getting worried since my grades (especially math) don’t exactly look like i’ll be good with computers. I don’t want to go to a low end school but i also don’t want to transfer from a community college either. So i want to know if i’ll even be considered in being able to get in (even if it’s not for computer engineer - i’m having second thoughts about what i really want to do in life) If any of you can recommend me any majors it’d be great.

my gpa was higher than yours (3.95), my CR was lower and M slightly higher (490 CR, 660 M), my ACT was lower (26), and i was accepted early decision into City and Regional Planning.

a friend that got in this year for computer engineering had 3.9, 1910 SAT, and 29 ACT. i also had another friend with a 3.45 gpa get into computer engineering, but his SAT score were 1420 (CR + M)

also have a friend that got in early decision, but as a computer science major with a 3.74 and 1870 SAT.

the summer courses you took, were they at a college or high school?

if you take a semester or quarter of a college course, it's equivalent to a year of an honors course at high school so i'd recommend doing that to boost your gpa.

computer science is easier to get into than computer engineering. if you study really hard for the ACT or SAT and bump those scores, they can make up for your gpa. for the ACT, i'd use the Real ACT book.. those tests in there are basically exactly like the actual test. i found some of the same questions, just different numbers.

and there's definitely some majors at cal poly you can get into with the stats you have now, i'm just not sure what you're looking for so i don't want to recommend a major you'll hate. although, as much as they tell you it's really hard to switch, it isn't too bad as long as you do good in your classes. however, i'd avoid switching into architecture.. it's a huge pain.. even though i did meet a girl this summer that managed to, i wouldn't recommend doing it.

Thanks for your great info!
I think i'll apply for early decision too

do you know when the early decision is due?
i couldn't find it on collegeboard.com

October 31st :]

and i'm not sure if you were planning on applying to any UCs, but i found out i was accepted the day before UC apps were due so that could save you some money if you wait to see if you got in before you send out your UC apps!
