Which book can I use? Any suggestions? I know tht studying AP US will help in SATII US but does tht apply to World History too?

Yeah, I want to know this too!

i was wondering the same thing since i want to take the world history sat ii after the ap test and was hoping not to have to buy another book. good question =p

Did the AP book help you guys on the SAT?
I’m in the same situation now.
I have the Barron’s AP World History study guide. I also bought the Barron’s flashcards.

I honestly use everything I can, included AP and regular textbooks.

I would say it has everything that will be on the test. The difference is the concentration of info. I think the SAT prep book and what you learn in class are your two best sources.

Took both last year, and have to say AP World History and SAT World History are considerably different.

AP focuses on historical analysis, while SAT focuses on knowledge of materials. Basically, you’ll mostly be asked facts on the SAT while be asked to draw connections, do analysis on the AP.

In terms of contents, both tests highly overlap. However, studying for one won’t necessary prepare you for the other (different in test formats as mentioned).

AP world history doesn’t go in as much details as SAT world history, so sticking with only the AP book can leave you out of some materials, while sticking with the SAT book will not prepare you with the higher level of thinking demanded by the AP.

If you really can afford only one book, I would recommend Barron’s AP World History. Barron gives the most comprehensive overview of the contents covered in AP. It should help you with SAT better than other AP books.
