<p>I am a BA Economics major, not math. I want to take Probability and Statistics, but there is a prerequisite for Intro. to Discrete Math. In high school, I took a Basic Statistics class and received college credit for it. Do you think that it might fulfill the Intro to Discrete Math prereq and I can take Prob & Stats right away?</p>

<p>Basic statistics isn’t the same as discrete math. I’m not sure why that class is a prereq for Probability and Statistics. Ask your advisor how that HS statistics class can be incorporated into your degree. Perhaps they’ll let you take Probability and Statistics class without discrete math if discrete math is not required by your major.</p>
