yay! i think you made the right choice

yeah good job, even though northwestern ranks a few places higher but i don't think it's the same as ivy league status. Cornell has more prestige.

aww yay collegekid1988!!! it was really really hard for me to turn down northwestern too!:(

whoa, and '88 baby. darn, i'm getting old...soo old...in fact that i'm am about to reach the height, the tallest point on my college journey...it's all downhill from here...boo! college is going by toooooo fast!

I'm turning down Northwestern too!

aww now i feel bad for nu. but yay evenblanks! i'll see you in ithaca!:)

I will most likely be at cornell in the coming fall. my dad wants state u's free money, but my mom wants prestige. I hope females like my mom want prestige..

. joking:) I like female partners who like the person, not just for money, fame, prestige, whatever. I doubt if i'll even have time to date in a super rigorous school as cornell. Heck, I never dated in high school or attended a single dance in hs, not even gonna to go to the prom even though a friend , who's a college girl, told me she would go to my HS prom with me if i ask her. Still, i'm cheap.

Prom is tomorrow and I just had a SCARY thought, the thought being My mom coming in to my bedroom and says "Shawn, if NOBODY wants to go with you, I'll go." I just said, "No, THANKS,, MOO0MM!"

AH, good good thing she's on a business trip right now. . I'll have prom night in peace to myself. Prom costs $300-400, which I can pay, but I 'll have to spend a small fortune on that college girl friend's plane ticket etc. I wouldn't want to disrupt her from end of the year testing times etc anyways.

SO which would you pick , fame or money?

to avoid misunderstanding, i did not meet the college girl on internet or something. We spent a lot of time in person over summer vacations, her parents are friends with my parents. But in short.... she's obese. I have no discrimination against fat people. i'll likely pig out and be very chubby once I hit all the ALL YOU CARE TO EAT halls everyday, but I'm the average marathon-runner thin (i finished a marathon) and it will be embarrassing, too late anyways.

hahahahaha shawn, you're funny.
i went to prom with a bunch of my friends (no dates) and it was a lot of fun. trust me, i'm not really a mixer/dance type of girl either. you should've gone stag or something. hehe but i'm sure you'll have fun at home too.:)

lol, oh my God, Shawn, let me just say that when i read "she's obese" I laughed my @$$ off. Hahahahaha, I was definitely not expecting you to go there... Well, I am with you on the not attending the dances thing... the music isn't really the kinda thing I want to listen to for 4 hours. I'm sure you can find something productive to do with your time, rather than sitting in at the prom at a table alone. (I know the feeling man, it's rough).

I am looking for someone who can accept me for who I am, not for the degree(s) which will be hanging in my office. Though, I am hoping to find someone at college so that I know they are somewhat intelligent. I do not require my "partner" to be a genius by any means, just to have some brains because I want to be able to learn from that person if I am going to be spending my life with them.

You said it!

And to answer Shawn's question, money. Because fame is overrated and why should the value of your existence be dependent on what others think of you?

yes money can get you fame, but also vice versa, though it could be harder the other way around.
