After this semester I will be graduating from CSUDH, but SDSU have just accepted me to finish my Bachelors over there.
Now, I am a San Diego local (plan to work there upon graduation) but I just cant grasp the idea about having to spend an extra semester in School. Right now, I’m in time for graduation, (23 by when I graduate) and that is something I have to sacrifice If I go to SDSU. I know the importance of local networking,
My question is,how much disadvantage do I really have from deciding to stay and graduate from a less regarded school, and not having a local network where I plan to work?
Honestly, it’s just one semester, and the opportunities from SDSU since you’ll be on-location are logically better. I assume costs would be roughly the same but you could use that extra semester to have a one-day weekly internship at a local business.
In the CSU system, that is a pretty meaningful jump from CSUDH to SDSU. Also, SDSU business has an AACSB accreditation.
I’d personally spend an extra semester for an SDSU business degree over one from CSUDH. If you weren’t from and planning to return to San Diego, I’d probably just stay put.
Bottom line, it’s a pretty good problem to have. Good luck either way!
It does, at least a little, but “how much” is too broad. For some fields, some businesses won’t recruit without the accreditation, for instance. In other fields, it’s just a boost.
