<p>Don’t forget that back until the mid 20th century (I’m not sure when…probably the 40’s I think…) the democrats were the conservative party and the republicans were liberal. Surprising, yes, but true nonetheless. I believe after the devastating effects of the Great Depression, party loyalties shifted among the people which led to the democrats becoming liberal and the republicans becoming increasingly conservative. </p>
<p>Hippo, i remeber that party loyalty shift question from APUSH exam, i wrote about the ineptness of Hoover alienating working class ppl and the finance reconstruction corp, which favored business, and then about FDR and all his stuff for working ppl, and such. I liked that AP, bc my teacher was amazing, I hope i get a 5.</p>
