<p>Probably won't do much for you. Lots of applicants have jobs like that. To get an idea about how impressive that will make you, take a look in the CC Yale board and see the backgrounds of rejected and accepted Yale students.</p>
<p>I'm not sure about Yale, but my D wrote her Common App essay about the trials and tribulations of her three years as a lifeguard. It was semi-serious (so far she has 3 saves) with a few amusing anecdotes. She did not apply to any top tier schools, but one of the Admissions Deans wrote her a letter saying how much she enjoyed reading it.</p>
<p>A good essay on any subject can boost applicants' chances. It's not what exactly one does that makes a good essay, but how one writes about it.</p>
