<p>I talked to an admissions officer from Stanford about the whole 'geographic diversity' thing (CA vs. East Coast, etc.) and she told me flat out, "We don't care that much." She emphasized that they don't have quotas, nor do they pay much attention to location. They're looking for the most able student body, and your location isn't a determining factor in your ability.</p>
