Will B's on semester report cards jeopardize my acceptance?

Hello there

I applied for UM - Ann Arbor and was accepted EA, and am trying to wrap up high school to a successful close. Unfortunately, I might get two B's this semester (we run a bi-semester curriculum) and get a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale), which would be 2 B's and 2'As for a total of four classes each semester (8 total). Senioritis has been taking its toll.

My question is, will a B or any number of B's endanger my current acceptance status? I know that really miserable grades like D's and F's would result in your acceptance being withdrawn, but I still am a bit scared. I got in with a 3.6 and 31 ACT, which, number-wise is very close. Because my credentials when applying weren't very strong, would that further give suspicion if I got B's on my report card?

FYI...I have not yet paid my enrollment deposit and have thus not yet decided to attend (waiting on some other schools).

Should I be worrying about this at all? If I get all A's next semester, would I be ok?

Thank you

Chockstock

Don’t worry much at all about B’s. Even a C is probably OK, but pushing it a little. As corny as it sounds, think of second semester as your last opportunity to prepare yourself for college without the added pressure of trying to wow admissions offices. It has helped me so far.

Just focus on those AP exams. They will be a huge blessing come your freshman year.

UM specifically says (in its sessions to scholarship students etc) that 3Cs or a D is what it takes to trigger a letter asking for an explanation. Also, it’s not a huge down trend, only slight. So relax a little and learn for the love of learning ; ) You’re already in!

I wouldn’t worry about the two B’s if you are already in. If you have a 3.6 average your semester performance is about the same as you have been performing in your freshman through junior years.
