Hello, I am Rachel and just applied for the University of Washington for fall 2014.

I have a 3.66 UW and a 4.04 W GPA. I have a 700 Math, 640 Writing, and 540 Reading SAT- 1880 total. I wrote pretty good essays, I wouldn't say outstanding... One amazing letter of rec, one was pretty basic. Counselor rec was probably great as well.

My extracurriculars:
President of Further Funds Club
VP of Microfinance Club
Link Leader & Elected Comissioner
National Honors Society Member
National Charity League (Recording sec, VP, then President)
Captain of Varsity Girls Golf Team
Varsity Volleyball
Varsity Gymnastics
Coach of 7th and 8th grade volleyball team
Wolverine Award (100+ hours of community service in one school year) earned twice

I have a job at a women's clothing boutique and have been working here for a year.

Let me know what you think my chances are! I will chance back if you leave a link:)

Not sure were you are, but I would say that you have a good chance of getting in at the UW. I tried to look up some of your awards to see where you were located, but the names of them are fairly common. In-state you probably have a better shot, but OOS would work as well. If your personal statement is quality, I do not see why you would have any issues.

What is your major though? Your chances of getting into the major you want could be a factor in whether or not you want to go to the school at all.

@bigtimeseller232 - I assume your post was sarcasm or trolling. The UW is a fantastic school.

I am from Washington, so I am in state. I want to enter the Foster school of Business with a degree in Marketing or Business Administration. I am also interested in Nursing, but the business school is my main goal. UW is my number one school.

Thanks for the additional information. You want want to look at the UW specific forum for more information on how other folks with stats like yours have done in terms of getting accepted at Foster.

With that said, I do not believe UW look at unweighted GPA, so you may be good from that perspective. Your SAT is a tad low, but from reading the other threads I believe some 1800 folks got in. Did you take the WSA? Do you know how you did on that? That and your personal statement will be the most important part of getting into Foster.

Also - just want to throw this out there - since you are not looking at doing an Accounting degree, UW - Bothell is a great second option and would accept you no problem, and the education should be quite similar as the schools share professors and content. For the sake of clarity, Bothell does not have the AACSB Accounting accreditation; thus why I added that qualifier.

Nursing I cant even comment on. UW has one of the best nursing programs in the nation. It is a crap-shoot for that program if you ask me!
