Planning on scoring a 2100+ on the SAT. Extremely competitive (but friendly...lol) and will get good recommendations.
Will be applying Premed to Human Ecology. What are some improvements I can make???

Also, I am in regents math because I promised my parents in middle school that I would take at least one regular class in order to control my chronic anxiety attacks because of school. I don't know if I can explain this on my application, but I don't want colleges to think I was not "applying myself"

Your EC’s are pretty good and your GPA is great. You may want to aim for a slightly higher SAT score, as other students who have a good shot for 5-20% acceptance rate schools usually have 2300+ scores. Also, as long as you talk about your health concerns, any university that has holistic admissions will understand.

Projecting the about the same GPA and 2100-2400 SAT…

W&M: Reach
Cornell: Reach
Brown: Reach
Stony Brook: Low Reach / Match
Georgetown:Reach / Low Reach
SUNY-Geneseo: Low Reach / Match

Good Luck!

Thank you for the advice! I will definitely try to improve

you are on right track . good EC’s . & yes good essays, good SAT s & SAT II for cornell.
chance?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1619043-chance-me-chance-you-back.html#latest

For one, I really like that you have dedicated a lot of your time to medical-related extracurriculars. It shows you have a clear focus and interest in a medical career someday. I assume you’re going to aim for the same HBHS major as me in cornell human ecology when you apply. I feel like you’ll be a great fit to the school, although I am only speaking from the perspective of an applicant. In regards to research, just email all the professors working at your medical center that are involved in the topics you really like. Many will say they don’t offer opportunities to high school students but some will take you on if you show the passion and highlight how hard you try in school. Best of luck!

You cant never be sure about cornell, but, ur pretty good, so…
Cornell-Low match (still a decent chance)
Brown-Small Reach (very competitive)
Georgetown-Match
Stonybrook-Good Match
SUNY GENESO-GREAT match

@justin5585 I actually am looking to apply as a BHS major! Thank you for the advice now, it is really helpful! The advice is great

Also: to anyone about to chance me: next year I am establishing a fundraiser (well technically expanding upon the old one):
In my school as secretary I run this program where you send Christmas cards with candy to your friends. Next yoear my idea (this is very doable) is that will every card you send you also send a Christmas card to a kid in the hospital alone for Christmas :(. (I really want to do this not for college but just because yaknow?) but consider this in my app

You are practically already accepted into either of the suny’s.
You ahave a pretty decent chance at cornell
The rest, I don’t really know enough about to honestly say
Best of luck!!

You’re really well rounded, and your stats are great. Still, all Ivies are reaches, no matter how good your stats in. The easiest ivy to get into IMO is Cornell, with Harvard or Yale being the hardest, but I digress. The SUNY schools are pretty much a definite for you, while Georgetown would probably be a low reach.

Thank you! Weirdly enough, at my school more kids get into Harvard, Yale, cornell, etc than Georgetown which is kinda weird. Your advice is very helpful

W&M: Reach
Cornell: Reach
Brown: Reach
Stony Brook: Low Reach / Match
Georgetown:Reach / Low Reach
SUNY-Geneseo: Low Reach / Match

just try to get a good sat score otherwise everything else is fine, and get those 700 or 750+ subject tests

For of all, I wouldn’t take Math I senior year, I would definitely take Math II. Even if you get an 800 on I that’s still not very impressive, it’s much more impressive if you can do well on II. Your grades are awesome so if you keep those up then that will be a good thing, but definitely work on those test scores because they matter more than you think they do. Stick with those ECs (clubs and sports) as well, they like to see commitment.
W&M: low reach (only because of out of state)
Cornell: Reach
Brown: very high reach
Stony Brook: math
Georgetown: reach
SUNY-Geneseo: math
Chance me back pleaseeee

Thank you for the advice! I will def try. But with math ll I will only be in pre-calc by senior year, so I would probably do really bad. (My math teacher told me to take math one-she was a bing grad) so yeah! Thanks again

And I already chanced you back lol :)
