(WILL CHANCE BACK!!!) CHANCES FOR UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Cornell, and Northwestern

Hi I'm new to College Confidential, and as an incoming senior I am wondering what my realistic chances are for UCLA and UCB in state, and Cornell/Northwestern:
GPA: UW 4.0, W 4.55 uncapped
Rank: Top 5-10%, definitely among top 50 out of 500ish
SAT: 2240(single sitting); 780 CR, 660 M (low I know, I will retake, since I have scored 720-770 on practice test), 800 W.
2260(superscored) with a 680 M
SAT IIs: Math 2 740, USH 760
APs: USH (5), AP Lang/Comp (5), Psych (5), AP Gov, AP Micro Econ, AP Lit, AP Calc, AP Stats
ACT: 31 (will not send)
Prospective Major: Statistics or Economics

ECs:
-President of Model United Nations for 2 years, member for 1 year prior
-Lifetime member of CSF
-100+ hours volunteering at cat shelter
-4 years of paid tutoring
-Member of San Mateo Youth Legislative Committee (helped endorse/pass bills that affected the area and endorsed a bill that affects UC and CSU campuses.
-Summer internship at consulting firm
-2 (maybe 3) years of lacrosse (Helped my mom actually found the team, but didn't play junior year due to injury)

Awards/Honors (nothing special...) :
-Principle's List
-AG/Calc "Hall of Fame" for perfect score on final exam along with only 4 other students in the past 10 years
-AP Scholar

Letters of Rec from will be strong.

Plan to write about absent father and overcoming my anger with him in order to forgive and become a better person, and how I overcame depression.

Hi! Don’t bother retaking the SAT, at this point (beyond 2200) it literally makes no difference, and good hook! sorry you had to go through that. So ur awards, etc. are a bit too mundane, and your ECs are decent but you need more leadership or to show more initiative. overall, your grades and scores should get you into UCD no problem. UCLA and UCB in state are getting incredibly competitive (I know, trust me) but you may have a chance. If u apply early decision to cornell, you may have a very high chance. same with NU.

@JamalAmmar for Model United Nations and Legislative Committee there are a good deal of awards included as well, for written papers etc.

@JamalAmmar I understand what you are saying about the SAT, but would it not look bad for a math oriented major to have a semi-low math score?

High Match at UCLA/UCB since OOS and Low Reach for Cornell/Northwestern. Solid EC’s! Thanks for chancing my and my friend by the way (:

@LordTalos I am in state not OOS

Which I assume would make those schools matches?

@Nk1237 Oh then Match sorry I must have misread.

okay thanks

For a stats major, i think you should retake because a 680 in math is very lackluster. It would have been okay if others were low, but as a stats major, math can’t. ECs are boring except for the passing bills one. Essay topic is ok, but realize many students write something along the lines of that. however if you feel you need to talk about it, go ahead.

okay thanks @manas1997 that’s is what I assumed. I plan on retaking

Retake SAT and concentrate on Math. Cornell doesn’t even consider much the W section so your CR+M is 1440. To be competitive at Cornell specially if you re applying in Arts & Science, you need 1500.

Okay thanks @2018dad I will definitely retake in October

@2018dad a 1440 is good enough for cornell, however, his math score is low.
