ACT and SAT scores are too low. Rochester is a surprisingly selective school, and I don’t think those scores will get you into there. Your rising GPA shows academic growth which is good, and you have a fairly decent course load. You are a match to a good portion of your schools, though.

Sorry I couldn’t do all of them!
Gpa and sat are very low:

You might want to add a couple of safeties and low matches to your list and if you suck at standardized testing there are a few very nice test-optional schools. Good luck.

Miami, UVA, Penn St, and Drexel will be tough, but not out of the question if you can raise your test scores a bit. Everywhere else is a relatively good bet; I wouldn’t worry about them. Just study, study, study to improve your scores and continue your upward GPA trend.

GPA and test scores are very low. Competitive school helps.

Please chance me back at “Low gpa, high sat”.

Does your school rank? If so, what is your class rank? Seeing as you said your school is very competitive, telling us your rank will help those who give you advice the context of your GPA in your school versus others. If a 3.1 UW places you in the top 10% at your school, then your school is extremely rigorous and adcoms will take note.

Your SAT score I won’t comment on since I don’t know the middle 50% of the schools you’re looking.

Remember, even if your score doesn’t fall in that range, people still do get in with lower scores. Just focus now on your essays, let your personality shine, and the rest will follow.

Best of luck to you.

Low GPA hurts, but upward trend should balance that out. Your low test scores, man, can you retake the SAT again? You’d do yourself a huge favor.

gee i never knew Penn State and Drexel were that hard for me to get into. seems like everyone in my school gets in to those two, but thanks for the input.

As others have mentioned, your GPA and SAT are low for UVA, and being out of state makes it a lot harder to get accepted. I’m not familiar with all of the schools but I’ll chance the ones I know.
