WILL CHANCE BACK! UPenn- life sciences and management program, Wharton, Sloan, and Ross business sch

Okay, so if you could, I'd like to be chanced both ED for the life sciences and management program as well as regular decision. Thanks a mil!

1st things first- I've had a weird couple of high school years so far. I lived in US till the 8th grade, but we moved to India for my 9th grade, which turned out okay- I got all As.
Then we moved back for 10th grade, and I decided to take 3 AP classes- phy, chem and whap- along with precal, which basically pulled my averages down to a B. We moved to India again for 11th grade then- and the school I went to forced me to pick a 'stream'- physics, chem and math or physics, chem and bio. I picked the former. But school her started in April, and I ended up missing around 3-4 months of school bc I had to finish 10th grade in US- lasted till June end- before moving. So that, plus the change in systems- again- got me Bs. I really don't know what it is. Me and Bs go together like pb&j:/ except for precal and chem ap where I got high C's. Depressing.

Okay, so, test scores-
10th grade-
World history ap- 4
Physics B ap- 4
Chemistry ap- 4
SAT- 2130

I'm planning on retaking the SATs in May- hopefully will get above a 2300.

Extra- curriculars-
I've been drumming in a band since 9th grade- the Misfits- and we've performed multiple times, mostly school functions. (In India).

I organized my schools annual function/ founders day festival completely during 10th grade. Included selecting music, dances, speeches and dramas. It came off great.

Debating- started seriously in 10th grade. Did NLD then CLD, merit member in the NFL, and did PF and stuco a couple of times along with Original oratory.
I recently won first prize in a general debate competition that involved 30 schools:)
When I moved to India, I started a City- wide debate club. We do multiple forms of debate as well as hold competitions. ATM we have 60 members, and lots of schools support us. I'm the founder and president.
We're also doing MUN, so I suppose I could put that as a separate club?

School Magazine editor-
I am the editor in chief of the school magazine, Carmel Tidings. It's an annual production that features 200+ articles by students, picture recaps of all major school events, as well as and honors section. I'm in charge of collecting all the articles and pictures, doing the first and second round of elims, and editing the final selections.

I've done multiple courses on Coursera so far, all with an A-
Introduction to finance- Ross business school.
Intro to songwriting- berklee.
Intro to human physiology- duke.

I'm working as an online publicist for a hotel ATM. I worked at their ice skating rink in 9th grade, and they recently hired me as their online publicist. Which is basically a fancy term for an online correspondent with travel companies, updating them about specials and whatnot. I also handle online enquiries for bookings. I also made their website.

I'm planning on starting an NGO over the summer- kind of like a coordinator. We have lots of temples/ organizations that give out food and water to the poor in my neighborhood, but they're all concentrated on serving the same area, which is really poor utilization of food. Hahaa I'm sorry I explained that really awkwardly, I hope you understood:/

Uhm idk there's really not much else I do. I'm planning on creating a documentary with my friend this summer, I hope that works out well.

I've played tennis since 8th grade, but only about once or twice a month lately:/

I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but I was accepted into the Texas academy of math and science, but I couldn't go cause we moved.

I'll probably do a lot better in school next year, bc I'm going to be here the whole time. Also, our school has a rep for failing/ giving people really bad grades in 11th grade, so they get a really good competitive result in 12th. (You get expelled if you fail). Smh private school politics.

My teacher recs- the one from my English teacher is absolutely positively glowing. The one from my bio teacher is decently good, but nothing spectacular. I can probably get a good one from my world history teacher as well.

I'm planning on doing the individual decathlon next year, hopefully place in state. Also, I'm thinking of taking the bio AP.

Volunteering- 300+ hours at this place that provides clean cheap drinking water for the poor- deerghayu.

Okay, that's all I got. I'll comment if I remember something else.

Thanks a lot guys! Feel free to link your threads below so I can chance you back.

Well Wharton is one of, if not the most selective school in the country so you need to do everything you can to stand out. Your grades are good but try to get at least a 2250 on the SAT. Your ECs are impressive too with a mix of leadership and service. Make sure your essays are beyond phenomenal so you can stand out.

My Thread (chance back please): <a href=“Chances for Vanderbilt, UNC, NYU, UF, and Duke? - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke-p1.html</a>

Wow. Volunteering work is great, ECs are great, and sounds like good teacher recs.

Your APs and SAT are nice too! Even though you didn’t explicitly list a GPA, I’d say considering the Cs, you may want to bring the GPA up.

Overall you sound well rounded. Try taking the ACT as well if you want.
I think Wharton requires SAT subject tests so probably take those as well.
Getting around a 2300 would be perfect for UPenn. I’d put you at high match to low reach. You can do it!

Chance back if you want here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1613310-my-chances-at-uga-rd.html#latest</a></p>

I think that everything is good but your SAT. You would be a reach with a 2150 in Wharton. You should retake the SAT’s and aim for a 2300. If you get that then you should get accepted because your EC are excellent

Okay, I can’t believe I forgot to mention this, but my GPA is around a 3.5 (straight Bs). Thanks!
Working on chancing you guys back ASAP(:

Chance, please!: D

School grades are most important; do try to improve them. Your SAT is good but better improve that as well to be on the safer side.

I understand the irritating habit of giving low grades in 12th to prepare us for the 12th!! Make sure your counsellor or Principal explains that in the counsellor report.

Looks like debate is your strongest EC. That is good! It is always better to choose depth over breadth as far as ECs are concerned. Continue debating at higher levels!
You might be tempted to try a lot of stuff now but trust me, it is a bad idea. You will have lesser time for studies and this will impact your 12th grades. Since better grades in 12th are going to be important for you, you might want to rethink doing too many things. But if you are confident that you can mange your time, go ahead!

All said, remember that most students who apply to Penn and similar colleges are very highly qualified. Don’t worry too much about it and chill out  . Start working on the application essays in summer.

All the Best!

Bummpp(:

Please, guys, I’d really like a few more responses, even if they’re negative. Constructive criticism and all. I’d really appreciate if you could take a few minutes to help. Thanks!:D

20 days- no replies:(
